Anna's Desk

Ever make a table and have something come alive in it a year later?  That's the story of this gem.  I had just gotten my shop opened and wanted to dive head first into live edge bliss.  I bought some beautiful spalted pecan from a woodsman and learned the hard way that there are risks to air drying lumber.  Long story short, a year after completing the piece the owner said it was making noise in the night and we came to find that it had boring beetles living in it that had been dormant for a year.  I had top kiln dried to give the beetles a warm peaceful passing.  After the cook, I refinished it and dropped it on a powder coated Eames base.
